And the fact that the couple went out of their way to adopt from an orphanage in a small village in internal Maharashtra is a fact to be appreciated. Sunny Leone has always been an ardent activist whether it be speaking for women’s right or equality and for adoption of stray pets. She has been a strong supporter of PETA and has spoken for neutering of stray animals to break the cycle of homeless animals, for adoption of stray pets from pet orphanages and in 2016 was felicitated with PETA’s person of the year award. Even lately Sunny Leone can often be seen at the internal schools and villages trying to help them out both financially and by getting attention to their issues.
